I absolutely LOVE teaching. From a very young age, I knew it was what I wanted to do. I graduated from Blackman High School in 2002. In 2006, I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies (Elementary Education K-6). I began my teaching career at Kittrell Elementary School, where I taught 6th Grade for 3 years. The two new middle schools were built, and I transferred to Oakland Middle School. I taught 6th Grade Math for 2 years. The following year, I decided to take a year off to be the best job God ever gave me....being a mom to my two boys, Nathan and Jack. In 2013, I decided to teach Spectrum for Rutherford County. I traveled to 6 different schools, and learned so much about our gifted population. After 3 years of traveling, I felt a longing to get back into the classroom. The opportunity arose for me to teach 5th Grade for the 2016-2017 school year. I have always wanted to teach at Lascassas, and feel that it is the best elementary school in the county. That being said, I am so proud to be able to work at such an awesome school! This is my second year teaching 5th Grade ELA at Lascassas.
I have been happily married to the love of my life, Joshua, for 12 years. I have two amazing little boys, Nathan (10) and Jack (7). When teaching is not keeping me busy, they are! I enjoy being an active part of my boys sports, and spend 99% of my time outside of school at the baseball field. I also enjoy hunting and fishing with my husband.
I am excited to start the 2017-2018 school year with all of your kiddos! This will be a great year, and I look forward to working with every parent and child.
